Technician

Serena Magni holds a Master’s degree in Medical Biotechnology obtained in 2011. She joined IFOM in 2012 as a Flow Cytometry technician at the imaging facility, where she developed strong technical and theoretical skills in cytometry and began exploring microscopy and image analysis.
In 2019, she transitioned to the role of Bioimage Analyst within the Advanced Light Microscopy Facility. Here, she deepened her expertise in optical microscopy, particularly wide-field and confocal techniques, and expanded her skills in image analysis.
Serena is proficient in using software such as Fiji, CellProfiler, and Arivis, and has developed programming knowledge in Jython and Python to support quantitative image analysis workflows.
