About Us
The AIRC Institute of Molecular Oncology (IFOM) in the vibrant city of Milan, Italy, invites applications for the position of Junior Group Leader. IFOM, was established in 1998 as the first Italian research center dedicated to exploring the molecular mechanisms underlying tumor formation and progression. In 2022, IFOM secured funding to expand its mission, which now includes rapid and effective translation of basic cancer research findings into clinical applications for patients.
Your Role
As the Head, you will orchestrate scientific innovation, overseeing all aspects of our state-of-the-art facility. From managing personnel and budgeting to establishing standard operating procedures and staying ahead of technological trends, you'll be the driving force behind IFOM's Spatial Tissue-Omics initiatives.
Technical Expertise
Utilize your expertise in tissue spatial omics technologies (e.g., transcriptomics or proteomics and metabolomics), multiplexed imaging, multi-omics integration, single-cell sequencing and digitally assisted morphological analysis of different tumor samples.
Collaborative Synergy
Forge strong collaborations with IFOM researchers, seamlessly integrating your knowledge with theirs. Integrate spatial tissue-omics with existing facilities working on cell genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, imaging and digital pathology. Be the main actor in designing and executing projects that push the boundaries of spatial tissue-omics, propelling IFOM to the forefront of scientific excellence.
Recommended qualifications
- PhD in biology/physics/genetics or related areas
- Strong publication record in omics and imaging based technologies
- Proficiency in omics related and imaging based technologies
- End-to-end management of Spatial Tissue-Omics platforms
- Outstanding communication and personnel management skills
