MCL graduated cum laude in Theoretical Physics in 1999 in Milan. He completed his PhD in Physics at the University of Leiden, working at the AMOLF institute (NL). After a Postdoctoral period at the Curie Institute (Paris, FR) and at the University of Milan, he started as a PI (Researcher and then Research DIrector) at CNRS in 2009, in the Laboratory of Computational and Quantitative Biology of the Sorbonne University (Pierre and Marie Curie). He started in 2018 as an IFOM PI, with a joint appointment as Associate Professor at the University of Milan (Theory and Complex Systems group, Department of Physics).
