Grants Officer
IFOM is an internationally recognized non-profit cancer research institute supported by the Italian Association for Cancer Research (AIRC) based in Milan within a highly dynamic urban environment.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Grant Officer to join our team.
Candidate will report directly to the Grants Office Coordinator and provide crucial support across all stages of grant management.
We are looking for a resource with at least 2/3 years of relevant experience in similar functions within international contexts and preferably in the field of scientific research;
Key responsibilities will include:
- Identification of suitable sources of funding and disseminating information about funding opportunities, eligibility, procedures and deadlines to IFOM scientists and administrators;
- Assisting Group Leaders and research staff in the grant application phase, with particular attention to the administrative and financial aspects of project proposals;
- Management of active grants, in terms of progress monitoring and fulfillment of reporting obligations;
- Acting as liaison between IFOM, grant awarding bodies and project partners/collaborators;
- Preparation, retrieval and verification of data and documents required by internal and external auditors in the grant audit phases;
- Supporting the Grants Office Coordinator by providing statistics and analysing funding tendencies producing reports for the Head of Office;
Required Skills
Ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in European Projects in the framework of the Europe programme;
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office package;
Education
A master degree in Economics, Law, Political Science or an equivalent academic qualification;
Languages
English excellent knowledge spoken and written;
Soft Skills
- Strong teamwork, good interpersonal and problem solving skills;
- Excellent communication skills and strong analytical mindset;
- Goal-oriented approach with special attention to established timelines;
- Capacity to face tight deadlines and handle stress conditions;
