With its Universities, the Politecnico di Milano, renowned research centres and clinical institutes, Milan is at the heart of a vibrant scientific environment with a dynamic community of researchers and students coming from all over the world. Founded in 1998 by FIRC, IFOM is a cancer research institute focused on the study of cancer formation and development at molecular level, with a view to a rapid transfer of results from bench to bedside.

How to reach IFOM

From MALPENSA Airport

  1. Take the Malpensa Express train, which leaves from the ground floor of the Malpensa airport Terminal 1/2.

    • Malpensa Express ticket price: € 13.00 (single journey), you can buy it online or directly at the Terminal 1 of the Malpensa airport.

  2. Get off at the stop "Milano Cadorna" station in Milan city center.

  3. You can get to IFOM by public transport:

    • Buy an urban ticket at the electronic ticket machine, tobacconist, stationer or newspaper stand.
      Urban ticket price: € 1.50 (Validity: 90 minutes after stamping);
    • Take the subway at the Cadorna Station, M1 line (red), in direction "Sesto 1° Maggio FS".
    • Get off at “Duomo” stop, then take M3 line (yellow), direction “San Donato”.
    • Get off at the subway stop "Crocetta" and there cross the road and take tram number 24 (directions "Vigentino") and get off at the Ripamonti-Serio tram stop (6th stop, stops are on request).
    • Turn left and walk down the street Via Serio, until you reach the junction with the street Via Adamello; turn left and continue for approximately 20 meters: IFOM is on your left side.

  4. From Cadorna, you can get to IFOM (Via Adamello 16) by taxi:

    • The taxi stand is situated in front of the train station.
    • Taxi fare: +/- € 20.00
From LINATE Airport

  1. Take a taxi from Milan Linate Airport to Via Adamello 16, Milan (Ripamonti zone).

    • Taxi fare: +/- € 20.00 – 30.00

From ORIO AL SERIO Airport

  1. From the airport to the Milan Central Train Station different shuttle bus companies depart every 30 minutes. The bus stand is in front of the airport. You can buy the ticket on board.

  2. Once arrived in Milan Central Train Station, you can get to IFOM by public transport or taxi (see below “From Milan Central Train Station”).

From Milan Central Train Station

  1. You can get to IFOM by public transport:
